The department of Civil and Water resources Engineering was established in 1984 to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) Degrees in Civil
and Water Resources Engineering. The department was initially running four (4) post A-Level degree programmes up to 1998, switched over to Five (5) year post
O-Level degree programmes in that same year. the origin of the department of Civil and water resources Engineering was intimately connected with the department
of Agricultural Engineering, whose transfer to the Faculty of Engineering gave a strong support not only in terms of planning, but even after the exodus of the
Senior academic staff from Czechoslovakia.
The department runs both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs at Masters and Ph.D. levels in various fields. Additionally, the department programs were fully accredited by
both National University Commission (NUC) and council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
